Description: The grand opening of OaklandCounty's new Medical Examiners Facility in Pontiac, Michigan has put the OaklandCounty medical examiner's department on the cutting edge of technology. This new two story, 38,000 SF facility was designed by Harley-Ellington to replace the existing 5,000 SF medical examiner's facility which was built in 1970 and had become outdated and inadequate to handle the over 1,100 autopsies each year. This state-of-the-art facility is equipped with the latest forensic technology for autopsies, training and medical investigations. The project was completed in March of 1999 and stands today as a model for future facilities throughout the world.
